Hardware and hair products can live in harmony and come to your rescue when you least expect it. For example, when it comes to keeping a nail steady on the wall, sometimes, especially if you are driving it from an awkward position, there’s nothing better than to hold it steady with a wide-tooth comb.
Edit Steps
- Mark the spot.
- Wedge the nail into the comb. Put the nail tip up against the mark, holding the comb.
- Hold onto the comb with one hand and drive the nail into the wall with a hammer (or an electric screwdriver). If the nail and comb combo match up properly, the comb should hold the nail in place as you hammer away.
Edit Tips
- Take care not to scratch the wall with the back of the comb (although if you've added self-adhesive texture tape, this should help you to avoid making any scratches).
- Keep different sized combs on hand in case you are driving different sized nails. It's a good idea to write something on the combs to identify their use, such as "Hammer Comb".
