Two Factor Authentication (2FA or TFA) is an extra layer of security that requires not only a password, but also something that only the user has, such as a piece of information, a physical token, or in the case of Tumblr, a mobile phone.
TFA makes it more difficult for hackers to access your Tumblr account, but a strong password should always be the first line of security.
