How to Make Tea Sandwiches

Want to make some classic sandwiches to go with your tea? Follow these easy steps to learn how to make 3 different kinds of delicious tea sandwiches.

Smoked Salmon Sandwich



  • 4 slices white bread with crusts removed

  • 4 slices smoked salmon

  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise

  • 2 tbsp chopped dill

  • Juice and zest of half lime

  • 1 cucumber thinly sliced lengthwise



Egg salad sandwich



  • 4 slices traditional pumpernickel bread

  • 3 hard boiled eggs chopped

  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

  • 2 tbsp chives, chopped

  • 2 tbsp crispy bacon bits

  • Salt and pepper



Avocado Shrimp Sandwich



  • 4 slices whole wheat pumpernickel bread

  • 8 shrimps cooked peeled and chopped

  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise

  • 1 tbsp coriander chopped

  • 1 ripe avocado peeled and mashed

  • 2 tbsp melon juice

  • Salt and pepper

  • Pinch of cayenne

Smoked Salmon Sandwich



  1. Spoon the mayonnaise into bowl.





  2. Add dill, lime zest, and lime juice. Combine well with spoon.





  3. Spoon a generous amount onto the slices of white bread. Use spoon to spread it evenly, using the back of your spoon.





  4. Place smoked salmon over 2 of the slices, and add the sliced cucumber on top of the slices with salmon.





  5. Put the slice without salmon and cucumber on top of the slices with salmon and cucumber.





  6. Slice in half using a knife.







Egg salad sandwich



  1. Add chopped egg into the medium bowl.





  2. Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped chives, and salt and pepper. Combine well with spoon.





  3. Spoon a generous amount over 2 of the slices, and spread well.





  4. Sprinkle the bacon bits over 2 slices.





  5. Close the sandwich.





  6. Cut diagonally.







Avocado Shrimp Sandwich



  1. Place mashed avocado into bowl.





  2. Add 1 tbsp lemon juice.





  3. Add cayenne pepper and salt.





  4. Combine well.





  5. Place shrimp in another bowl.





  6. Add mayonnaise, chopped coriander, and salt.





  7. Stir well.





  8. Spoon the avocado mix onto 2 slices of bread, and spread well.





  9. Heap shrimp mixture on top.





  10. Press down lightly with spoon.





  11. Place the other slices on top.





  12. Slice in half.

  • These sandwiches can be made 2 hours beforehand and covered with a wet cloth or some cling film.
