How to Apply Everyday Makeup

12/16/2013

Do you want to just have an easy, everyday makeup routine? Look no further but here! Follow the steps below to achieve this great look!

Edit Steps

  1. Wipe off any dirt, oil, impurities, etc. before applying any makeup. You don't want to cause a breakout or infection.

  2. Apply your moisturizer after your face is clean. This will help protect and moisturize your skin. It will also keep your skin from getting too oily during the day.

  3. Apply primer to your face (your nose, chin, and forehead). This will help your foundation blend easily, but it's not always necessary.

  4. Use a green colored corrector on any area that has redness, a yellow colored concealer under your eyes to correct the dark circles, and a concealer that matches your skin tone to cover any imperfections. Use patting motions to apply the concealer or use a brush.

  5. Apply foundation. Liquid or powder, whatever works better for you.

  6. If you use a liquid foundation, your next step is to apply a translucent powder to set the foundation. Apply this evenly all over your face. For a matte look, use a powder puff with pressed powder, or just for a natural look, just use a loose powder and apply it in a circular motion with a soft powder brush.

  7. Apply your blush (if wanted), after everything is nice and even. You can use either an angled blush brush, or just a regular blush brush, Whatever works best. Start at the apples of your cheeks and brush lightly out to your hairline.

  8. Apply an eye primer onto your eyelids. If you don't have an eyelid primer, apply a small amount of foundation to your eyelids and set it with powder, then go on to apply your eyeshadow after this step.

  9. Eyeshadow comes in all different forms: Cream, powder, stick, whatever you choose. For a natural, everyday look however, you might want to stick to powder and neutral colors.

  10. Start by applying a medium toned color on your eyelid (let's just say brown).

  11. Next, apply a light, flesh toned, white or off-white color all the way up to your brow bone. This will act as a highlighter.

  12. Apply a black or brown eyeliner. If possible, apply it from under your eyelashes, a little more than halfway across your eyelid.

  13. Curl your eyelashes (if needed), apply an even coat of black or brown mascara.

  14. Finished.

Edit Tips

  • A tinted moisturizer is good if you don't want to use foundation, moisturizer, or primer. It's a great substitute, and can save you more time (and money) than you think.

  • It may seem like a lot, and sometimes it is. Skip some steps if you don't find them necessary. Not everyone needs eyeshadow, not everyone needs eyeliner. If your skin is flawless enough to where you don't need foundation, skip it. If your skin isn't oily under your makeup, skip the primer. Whatever you think looks good, go for it. Be reasonable, but be yourself.

Edit Warnings

  • Don't over-do it.
